Introducing Peter Campbell

I am very excited to share that Bull Oak Capital is growing! Peter Campbell has joined the firm as our Lead Advisor, where he will be assisting our clients with financial planning strategies and ongoing client reviews.

When I first launched Bull Oak Capital 8 years ago, I envisioned creating a firm that would deliver excellent financial planning services and extraordinary client service. I believe that I have accomplished this goal. Adding Peter to the team not only ensures that Bull Oak will continue to deliver on this promise, but I fully expect that he will drive these two areas forward and deliver an even better experience for all clients.

I met Peter three years ago after he sent me a cold email, asking about Bull Oak’s growth, its positioning, and future career opportunities. I was intrigued to receive a thoughtful email like this, especially from an individual that has recently shifted his career from professional golfer to financial professional. What was this person’s story? Why a financial professional? Where did he see the industry headed?

We’ve had multiple conversations and meetings since, and these conversations quickly shifted from industry best practices to potentially working together. It was clear that we both had similar thoughts about how a successful firm should operate. While it took some time to figure out how to work together, I am delighted that this day has come and that he is now officially a part of the team. I am excited to see him implement the many great ideas he has for our clients.

Peter’s Background

Peter grew up in San Diego and lives in Encinitas with his wife and two children. He graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in History and competed nationally on the top-ranked UCLA golf team, winning multiple events during his four years.

After graduating from UCLA, Peter was a professional golfer for ten years. He competed in events on numerous tours ranging from the PGA and Korn Ferry Tour to PGA Tour Canada and international events. During this time, he also worked with and consulted for businesses in the golf, performance technology, and sports apparel industries.

Before joining Bull Oak Capital, he previously worked at a fiduciary wealth management firm in San Diego, working with clients to build and implement financial planning strategies.

He has completed the Uniform Investment Advisor Law (Series 65) Exam and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) candidate. He writes about equity compensation, stock options, and more on his personal finance blog.
